Tableau - The Reporting Tool...

Tableau is a Business Intelligence software that allows anyone to easily connect to data, then visualize and create interactive, shareable dashboards. It's easy enough that any Excel user can learn it, but powerful enough to satisfy even the most complex analytical problems. It uses an SQL Language called VIZQL - Visual Query Language. Tableau uses the IN-Memory Concept to hold data.

tableau Desktop

Tableau Desktop is used by Developer to Develop or Design or Author. It contains different providers. Providers are classified into Files and Database.

Connect to Excel Sheet by clicking in Excel Provider

Opening the Excel sheet will provide a Metadata Selection.

Drag and drop the Order Sheet into Space above "Drag Sheet Here"

Drag and drop the Returns Sheet similarly. It automatically forms the Referential Integrity with Inner Joins as shown in another screenshot.

On Expanding the relationship we can see the Inner Join has been Selected, We can also select Left Join if required

Select the 3rd Sheet User with Left Join

Left Join has been applied for the 3rd Sheet with Orders Sheet

Perform the operation such as Ascending and Descending on Extracted Data.

Select the top values by using the Rows = 5 in case of 1000 at the right hand side corner.

You can also change the Metadata from the Manage Metadata

Renaming the Columns can be done using Manage Metadata Menu

Once Metadata changes are done, Create the Report as shown below. Report will automatically populate the Dimension and Measures or Factorial Values.

Rename the Report to Sales Report and drag and drop Province into Rows and Measures into Columns to create an aggregated value as a tabular format.

The format can be done on the Tabular Format with Fonts

If you don't require any column, it can be excluded by right-clicking on the tabular column

Edit Column Name using the below Option.

Create a Pie chart in another Report as Shipping Report.

Create a New Dashboard, add the Sales and Shipping Report and set the properties as shown.

Publish the data into Tableau Server or Online or Tableau Public.
