Creating Time Dimension using Wizard

To create a new dimension, right click the dimensions folder of your Analysis Services project and select "Add new dimension"

 Select 2nd Option in the Wizard as "Generate Time table in Datasource"

 

 Select respective Data such Year, Quarter, Month , Week and Day from the below wizards

Select Regular, Fiscal and Reporting Calendar as required

Provide the Dimension Name and Check the Generate Schema at the Bottom of Screen.

Click Finish to generate the Structure or Schema along with the Data in Database with the table Name Calendars With respect to Data Source Connection 

Schema is getting generated 

 Schema generated in SSAS BIDS

Go to Database and Connect it. Once done You can see the Data Already populated

Moral Behind Time Wizard,

I had to stand before My Higher official to tell them why i took more time to generate Calendar data when we have such a cool Feature Available in SSAS. I took 30 days to generate the Calendar Dimension by Using SQL Server Queries and i had  to check the Fiscal year for US and China. So a lesson Learnt here :-)

The above are created using Denali - SQL Server 2012..
